Fair time!

We've hit up several fairs over the past few weeks. We started with a few trips to the Fisher Fair. Jeremiah and Andrew both participated in some kids' games and the kiddie tractor pull. Jeremiah earned third prize (a little cash) in a Bozo buckets game. Levi was a super baby while his brothers were busy playing games. We returned later that night to take in unlimited carnival rides. Jeremiah found a few of his school friends to go on the rides with.

Jeremiah, Andrew and Karl with Queen Kelley
A few weeks later we ventured north to watch cousins Kelley and Devin show cattle. Levi sported his cow onesie from the Kuipers. Andrew is still a little scared of the cattle, mostly because they are loud. We witnessed him shaking in fear when one of the cows mooed. He was fine when it was just standing there. Jeremiah helped oil out some of the calves after the show. Jeremiah and Andrew took a haul of candy at the parade. After they did the kiddie tractor pull (with Andrew winning a prize), we spent some down time with cousin Karl at Grandma's house. There was plenty of time spent on inflatables later that evening and we watched cousin Kelley give up her crown as the Elizabeth Fair Queen. Jeremiah took a whack at the chicken scramble on Sunday. We're a little relieved he didn't get one. Mom and the boys stuck around for a few days after the fair. Jeremiah helped Grandma clean up the 4-H food stand. We played croquet with Grandma and other games with Grandpa. They also did their fair share of chores.

We wrapped up our fair participation with Jeremiah showing his 4-H Cloverbud project at the Champaign County Fair. He took a rocket model made out of candy.
