Being 2 in the summer

Levi is meant to be a summer kid! Although he did little sitting at his brothers' baseball games, he loved being out at the ball park several nights a week in June. He had his own little friends to visit with including Hylah, a little girl who could get him to do just about anything, and Sadie, another mom who spoiled him.

It won't be long and he will be driving the pontoon.
He was outside every chance he had. Favorite activities included blowing bubbles, chalk, the sand box, and riding the big wheel (he just has to sit all the way up to pedal it).

Swimming was a slow start this summer, but he quickly found some bravery. As we wrap up the summer, he swims by himself wearing his turtle floater now.

Other summer highlights included:
kayaking with daddy on Long Lake

  • He moved in to the Busy Bee room at daycare upon our return from Disney.
  • Speaking of Disney, we left Nuk behind for Mickey Mouse. He dealt with this much better than we thought.
  • A week away from home made him decide to be done with his crib. He has been sleeping on his crib mattress on the floor for most of the summer.
  • A trip to Brookfield Zoo was perfect for him as soon as we saw the monkeys.
  • He likes swimming in the lake and riding on the boat at the cabin.
  • Swiss cousin Laura helping him pick up candy at the Elizabeth Fair parade. (he was just a little guy when she left to go back to Switzerland)
  • He is still not a big fan of dogs - either the friendly puppy next door, Annie at the farm, or Bailey at Grandma and Grandpa's house.

And that leads us to Levi's newest habit....the word "Why"!
