Snow and Bowl

Jeremiah's big events this week were playing in the snow for the very first time and enjoying the Super Bowl with friends, including one cute little lady.

Last Thursday night we received somewhere between 8 and 10 inches of snow. Needless to say, I didn't venture out to work and rumor has it that our car wouldn't have made it to the daycare because her street wasn't plowed. In fact, John took her home from her early morning job as the donut lady at Casey's, on his way to work. Jeremiah and I enjoyed a morning full of play and then, I did ship him off to Shelly's after his nap so I didn't have to take a full day of vacay. After I picked him up, I brought him home, bundled him and greeted Daddy at the door with the video and digital cameras. It was about 30 degrees out - wonderful for a 15 month old to discover the snow. He wasn't real interested at first but finally played in it a bit. Then, his mitten fell off and his reaction was very confused about why his hand was now very cold. We stayed out about 10 minutes and gathered the obligatory media. It's 50 plus degrees now and that snow is nearly gone. It's a good thing we acted fast.
On Sunday, Jeremiah hosted our Super Bowl party. We had a great time and appreciate our friends being accepting of his playground being in the middle of the living room while they tried to watch a game. Little Alyson Brucker and her parents came so Jeremiah had a special guest to play with during the game. I don't even want to contemplate how many crackers with cheese dip on them he ate last night, but that's what parties are for!
New highlights for the week: He can now climb on and off the couch by himself. Ally no longer has a "safe spot" on the top of the couch. He's getting really interested in his blocks and does a decent job of starting to put them together. We also introduced him to crayons last week. He likes to get down on the floor and color big sheets.
