September in review (part 2)
The second weekend in September found us on the road again. We went to Champaign to throw a baby shower for Amy and Ryan R. Mom and Dad also enjoyed a night football game, while the boys stayed at our hotel with Shelly, Keith and their girls. Jeremiah enjoyed swimming and Andrew had a great time playing with Ashley and Shelly.
Some of the Daddys and kids playing during the shower.
Andrew took in a snooze during the shower.
Jeremiah was particularly fond of the fact that our hotel had a special couch bed for him and we liked that it had a door to the bedroom so we could put Andrew down.
We took advantage of our close proximity to the outlet malls near Champaign to get to the Stride Rite store to get Andrew his first pair of shoes!
It was time to get those walking feet covered. At first, he reacted as if we had put bricks on his feet but he is now motoring pretty well with them on.
Apparently, some new shoes and good times were not the only thing we picked up in Champaign. Upon our return to Iowa, both boys came down with a stomach bug. Poor little Andrew just had no idea what hit him. He and I spent most of that night sleeping in the Lazy Boy. Andrew's system still isn't quite back to full capacity.
This past weekend, Jeremiah danced at a high school football game and there was apparently quite the group of people that were admiring him surrounded by all the girls that dance with the group.
After dancing, he enjoyed having his friend Cheyenne and her parents over for a campfire and some kid movies. Saturday brought a visit from Aunt Sheila and cousin Becca. Jeremiah loved having someone to play with him and we're sorry that Andrew decided to get sick on Aunt Sheila. : ( We're sure glad they made the trip out though!
