Spring time fun!

Jeremiah had a busy but very fun weekend! On Friday, I promised him that we would get a movie. After I picked him up, we went to the grocery store, where he chose Space Buddies.

Then after dinner we made popcorn, added a few M&Ms and curled up to watch the movie and wait for Daddy.

Saturday brought another adventure. We had planned to go to the forest preserve park but a morning thunderstorm sidelined that plan so we went to the Children's Discovery Museum in Normal, instead. It was fun family outing and a great place for a kid's imagination to run! Among other things they have an ag exhibit. He drove the combine and tractor numerous times and liked the other aspects of the "Agmazing" exhibit. We grabbed a few slices of pizza for lunch and Jeremiah passed out on the way home. We topped off a great day with a trip to the park up town since we had not been able to go to the park earlier in the day.
Playing operation!

Sunday was so nice outside that we continued the fun! Jeremiah and Daddy played catch in the back yard, he played in the sandbox, and climbed on his cube slide. We also treated ourselves to some ice cream! He's proud to tell you he had a cone!

On a not so fun note he has become a little defiant lately. It is usually short lived but he has had a few time outs and the very stearn look from mom when he has been talking back. With Shelly's help, I'm hoping to stop this behavior in its tracks

  • When Carter hit 2 1/2, he definitely got more defiant. He seems to be settling back to normal (six months later). I read an article in a magazine that said around their 'half' birthdays kids try to push the envelope a bit to redefine what they can do, and then they get back to normal around their birthdays. Hope his is shorter-lived than Carter's was!
