Catching up with odds and ends
Where to start with catching up? I think a great lunch and outing with a friend is a good place to begin. Last Monday, Jeremiah, Andrew and I met Jane N. for lunch in Davenport. We hit Target and Toys 'R Us before introducing Andrew to Jane at Noodles. The boys were both really good and I've discovered that it is no longer possible to go through a drive thru without Jeremiah requesting something. My skinny decaf latte came with a chocolate milk upon his insistence.
Last week, Andrew let out a few potential giggles, and we have recently decided that they are indeed qualifying as laughing. It's pretty cute.
Last Wednesday, Andrew made his test run at the sitter's house. Jeremiah was proud to inform all the other kids that he was his big brother. He stuck pretty close to him for part of the day.
We also left Andrew for the first time with a non-family sitter on Friday night. Our daycare provider has a teenage daughter that is great with the boys so were comfortable enough to go out for a quick bite and a movie. Jeremiah was too cute as we got set to leave saying, "See you later. Have a great night." It was like we were teenagers being shown to the door by a parent. Andrew suckered the sitter in to holding him, but otherwise all went really well. And the sitter is now aware of Jeremiah little idiocyncrisies when it comes to his bedtime routine.
On Saturday morning, Jeremiah and I got haircuts and then I told him I would treat him for being so good. We went to the local coffee shop. I thought he would pick something and we would be on our way. However, he picked a table and wanted to enjoy his M&M cookie right there. I got a coffee and we sat and chatted. It was a really special time just for the two of us, making me realize that John and I need to be sure to set aside time for the boys individually with us.
