Ringin' in 2011

We headed to the Land of Cheese for a New Year’s weekend gathering with two other families - the Keyes and Maiers. Both boys enjoyed playing with their little friends (and their parents enjoyed reconnecting with the adults).

Jeremiah and Daddy joined two other dads and kids for a fun day at an indoor water park. They were there more than five hours. Jeremiah particularly LOVED the slide with the big rafts!

Andrew took a liking to another four-legged friend. The Keyes family has Greta, a yellow lab who is WONDERFUL with the kids. Andrew and I headed outside during the afternoon to play on the swingset and throw the ball for Greta.

The girls in the group opened a hair salon and found Andrew to be their “special client”. They sprayed, combed and who knows what else. He sat for it all, but he did require a quick bath before jammy time.

After a great dinner of shells made by Daddy, the kids donned pjs and started their kids party, complete with hats, noisemakers, games, and more! When they headed off to bed at 10 p.m., the adults enjoyed some revelry and watched the ball drop.

The new year brought a new site for us all as we woke up to snow. This provided the kids the opportunity to sled in the Keyes’ front yard. Given that this was our first opportunity this winter, it was much appreciated.

We headed back to Illinois with a fun stop at a Red Robin in Rockford. We were all pretty tired, but enjoyed our special gathering.
