Vacation 2014

We wrapped up Summer 2014 with a week at Grandma Todd's party house in Wisconsin. We all enjoyed boat rides, time at the sand bar, fishing, tubing, campfires and being together. We had sparklers, cooked one evening's dinner over the fire and had smores on more than one occasion.

Jeremiah managed to catch a sun fish that he was able to keep and eat! The tooth fairy had to make a stop at the cabin, as he finally lost his second tooth (6th total but 4 went in surgery in January). He spent several mornings fishing with Grandpa and Daddy and seems to be getting more patient.

Andrew continues to grow his circle of friends at the lake, waving at the people he knew from his trip earlier this year and entertaining new acquaintances. He did some fishing from the dock but was not as eager to go on the morning fishing trips. He went on two kayak outings with Grandma. Mommy, Grandma, Andrew and Jeremiah also took the canoe out one morning.

Levi took to the sand bar like a champ. He played in the sand, splashed in the water and quickly understood that the sandbar equals snacks! He liked all the doggies in the neighborhood and at the sand bar but had an issue with Bailey waiting at his feet while he ate.

The boys made friends with Joe and Kelly's dog, Eli. Joe and Kelly have the cabin straight out from G&G Todd. They spent hours playing kick the ball with Eli. We made a quick trip to Hayward for the candy store and bakery. Luckily we were at the candy store before it was too busy because Jeremiah was very meticulous with his candy selections. We tipped the girl helping him because we felt bad for her. She was so patient with his request for specific numbers of gummies and other candy.

The boys discovered that Grandpa's little boat can go REALLY fast! There was an on-going Monopoly game, several rounds of war, and too many games of Candy Land to count.

We headed out on Friday afternoon and made a pit stop at the Keyes. It was special to visit with them, if only for a short time. The kids played well together and the parents enjoyed a few minutes to visit.

What a special vacation! Now, it's back to the school schedule and all the activities that come with it.
