A Winter Adventure

LET IT GO! LET IT GO! It was time for Frozen on Ice with Aunt Carrie!

After Jeremiah's Saturday morning basketball game, we headed for a hotel in Chicago. The older boys rested for a bit and then Mommy took them for a quick swim before it was time to get ready to leave for the show. Mommy, Daddy, and Levi dropped them off, arriving JUST in time to get to their seats.

From what we hear, it was a great show complete with a blow-up Marshmallow (that's the big snow guy that Elsa makes) and a four-legged skating Sven reindeer! Other Disney characters also make an appearance! Mommy, Daddy and Levi got some dinner and headed back to the hotel for a bit before it was time to circle back to pick up Carrie, Andrew and Jeremiah. Aunt Carrie treated the boys to some special souvenirs.

It was a late night, but the boys were still ready to go on Sunday morning. After breakfast and a morning swim, we decided to try out our new Brookfield Zoo pass. Snow is not the normal condition for a typical zoo outing, but we did actually enjoy getting to spend more time looking at the animals and visiting with the volunteers. We spent about two hours seeing the primates, penguins (and some fish, which Levi LOVED) and the pachyderms.

All three boys (and Mommy too) fell asleep on the way home. That's a sure sign of a fun-filled winter outing!
