An interesting feeding
Last night Jeremiah nursed by the glow of a flashlight. A winter storm left us without electricity in the middle of the night. I rolled over to ask John to turn on a lamp and he replied that the lights were out. Jeremiah didn't have too much trouble figuring things out in the dark but the diaper change would have been a little hard without the flashlight. we swaddled him with an extra blanket in case the outage persisted. By the time he woke up 3 hours later for another round of eating, we were back in business with the lights.
Other developments in the past few days have included John feeding him a bottle on Wednesday night. He seemed a little confused at first
(mainly wondering why John was looking down at him while he ate) but drank nearly 3 ounces from it. Hopefully we can keep him doing this on a regular basis so we know that he will take a bottle. However, I'm finding it difficult to know how much to give him. After John fed him, he breastfed again less than an hour later. I currently have a call in to the breastfeeding clinic. (Yes, I am a first-time worrying mom!)
He also seems to be taking to his baths a bit more. He actually calmed down and was quiet while I bathed him last night. I'm hoping that this may be moving towards something he enjoys and we could possibly use as something to sooth him.
Here's a picture his Grandma Todd took over the weekend. It's better than the one I put up earlier this week. However, he has his old man eyebrow up.
