Traveling solo
Jeremiah spent the first week of June at Grandma Schnitzler's house. He enjoyed being with his cousins and going to bible school at the Derinda church. He told us all about doing things with the cows, visiting the horses and various other activities in the very short phone calls that he was willing to participate in each night. We thought he might spend Friday night at Karl's house but he wasn't too keen on that idea so we'll have to reschedule for another time. We drove over on Saturday to go to his program and also attend some graduation parties. It was hard to believe I was taking my own kids to a party for the little girl that I used to babysit who is headed off to college in the fall.
We did notice that Andrew seemed to miss Jeremiah a little. He was looking around for him, occassionally. However, we enjoyed getting to just focus on him for a few days. Since our babysitter was also having back surgery that week, Aunt Ann came to town for a few days to watch Andrew. They went on some walks and just had a great time playing together.
Last week, Daddy was a one man act, while I went to Atlanta on a business trip. All seemed to go well, but the boys did give Daddy some nights with not much sleep. When I returned Jeremiah greeted me with hugs and Andrew burst in to tears. We are not sure if was so shocked to see me or what exactly happened.
Andrew has also been traveling solo. He's making his way around our house pretty quickly and is occassionally spotted on all fours. Last week he also pushed himself up on to a box of toys. I'm not going to call if pulling up but he does want to be up on his legs. He's been having some trouble getting to sleep, but we're working our way through that. We did let him cry it out, with a little comforting, one night last week. Interestingly, he is getting more snuggly in the morning. He's never been a real snuggle bug, but the past few mornings, he has been wanting to snuggle and go back to sleep when he wakes us at 5:30. We're delighted that he can give us another 30-60 minutes of warm, snuggly shut eye. I love snuggling a baby and he won't be one for long.
