Take me out to the ballgame....

Opening weekend at Busch Stadium brought a great opportunity to see the Cardinals take on the Chicago Cubs AND meet the newest member of the Ganning Family.

With a rain out of Jeremiah's soccer game, we headed south mid-morning on Saturday, stopping for lunch in Litchfield. We made a quick visit to Great-Grandma Todd. This was her and Andrew's first meeting. Both boys were quite talkative, sharing about recent events in their lives and what they like to do.

We made our way to the Ganning household, where we met Ashton! The boys picked up just like boys do. They played cars, ran around and occassionally were curious about Ashton. Andrew was gentle when instructed and Jeremiah didn't give too much attention to Mom or Dad holding Ashton.

We were excited to be part of a milestone for Ashton when we accompanied their family to dinner at a local restaurant. This was his first outing! Andrew, Jeremiah and Elliot all lined one side of the table. We look forward to continuing to see their friendship grow and to now include Ashton!

We capped off an eventful day by checking out the pool hotel. Jeremiah practiced many of the things he has been doing in swim lessons. Andrew was thrilled to go to the pool, just not get in. He and Daddy stayed on the first step with their feet in the water. We made a repeat trip on Sunday morning. Andrew got a little farther in to the pool.

Arriving at the game a little early afforded us the opportunity to check out some family activities at Busch Stadium. We had popsicles, played in an indoor play area and made a craft. Andrew displayed his fear of large characters again when he shuttered at the presence of Fredbird. However, he enjoyed watching him on the field from the comfort of our seats. They both enjoyed watching the fireworks when the Cards hit homeruns and had fun jesting Grandma Todd that the Cubs lost.
