The first day back
Today I returned to work and Jeremiah spent his first full day at Ms. Shelly's house.
The day started out with a bit of chaos as I hustled to get out the door on time. I still am not sure what happened to nearly 2 hours of my time this morning. In the flash of an eye, I was dropping Jeremiah off at the sitter's and headed for work.....in tears. People tell me it will get easier but I'm not so sure. My day went OK until about 3:00 p.m. when I wanted my work day to be over. That was about the time we would snuggle or play after he ate. It was just in time for Racheal Ray or Oprah. I think what feels the strangest is that won't be the "norm" ever again.
Jeremiah's sitter needed to take her cat to the vet so off they went on another adventure. It sounded like he did good and she wrote us a note that he took three bottles. John picked him up and he was fast asleep in his chair when I got home. He slept there until about 7 when we moved him to the floor and he woke up. He ate and was a bit fussy until he went down for the night at 8. This was pretty hard on me, as I have been fearful that the time we get with him awake will be minimal and he is often fussy in the evening. I, obviously, love him even when he is fussy but it would be nice to have a little time to play and interact with him while he is happy. This wasn't the best end to the day for me, as I'm already feeling like I am missing time with him.
Regardless, we do it again tomorrow. Hopefully we'll get some time to spend over the upcoming holiday weekend.
