A special father's day gift!

As much as I could help Jeremiah get a great gift for his dad for father's day - a new weather station just like Grandpa's and Papa's - he was able to give his own little surprise too.

John was in the backyard yesterday and I was doing a bit of kitchen work with Jeremiah crawling around at my feet. When I looked down to see what he was up to, I realized that he was sitting up and he had not been sitting previously. He had figured out how to sit himself up from a crawling position. In a day's time, he has become pretty slick at this new little trick.

Our week was pretty typical with Jeremiah spending his day at Shelly's house. Friday night we all went to a really fun party but I'm going to wait to tell you about it because I think some people might not know the great news yet. Jeremiah is super-excited about this fun news from friends of ours. On Saturday we went to a wedding reception outside and Jeremiah was very well behaved but it was definitely time to exit around 4 when he was hot and ready for a nap. On Sunday, we met uncle Roger to get cousin Logan, who is staying with us for the week while he goes to basketball camp. So far, Jeremiah seems to really enjoy someone who will take time to get down and play with him.

We're quickly discovering that some of things that will occupy Jeremiah the longest will not be toys. So far, he has taken a liking to the kitchen step stools, the rug (see picture) and an empty Cool Whip dish.
