Jeremiah's baptism

Yesterday was a very special day for Jeremiah. He was baptized in the presence of many family and friends. He is normally very good and quiet in church but apparently he knew something was out of sorts and he was a bit fussy for his baptism. I guess he couldn't handle all the pressure on him. I ended up taking him from his godfather to try to quiet him down during his baptism. I felt bad about that but I didn't want him to be worked up.

It was such a wonderful feeling to see him experience this first Christian milestone. After church we welcomed many people back to the house. He cashed out on the way home and slept for the majority of the party. Last night after everyone left he slept for a while longer and then hung out with us. I was sure glad we had today off because I was riding quite the emotional roller coaster. It was hard to watch family have to leave and even harder to be reminded that I was facing 4 days of work and taking him to daycare. (I know, don't say it. It will get easier.)

On Saturday night we also enjoyed some time with family. We put Jeremiah down on the floor and his cousin Karl, who was born in May explored being down there with him. We let the two of them "play" for a bit until Karl reached for his face. I'm sure the two of them are in for many more mischievous moments together.

Here are a few photos from his baptism. One with his grandparents, another with the godparents and finally his baptism outfit.

  • Well, doesn't he clean up nice?! Spiffy white suit! :) I'm glad your family could all be together for such a special day - wish I could've been there, too! Hugs, C

  • Miss Marla,

Thanks for keeping me up-to-date on my fellow little Illini. I'm excited that Jeremiah got baptized last weekend...it's OK that he fussed when he got baptized. OK...maybe I'm just saying that because I fussed when I got baptized, too!

Sorry that it's been hard for you to go back to work. When my mom went back everyone told her that it was harder on her than it was on me. Don't tell her I said this, but they were right. Even though I miss her every day, I sure do have fun at day care!

Sorry that I haven't posted a comment before, but I just figured out how to do it!

    Love,
    Carter John in Kansas
