We have some work to do

After another busy week of being at Shelly’s, Jeremiah spent the weekend visiting family up north. He and I made our first trip alone and he must have known how important it was to be a good boy for Mommy. He didn’t sleep the entire way but I didn’t have to open the bag of tricks (books, toys, etc.) until we were around Rockford. He did a great job holding his own snack cup so I didn’t have to hand him individual crackers. Granted, there were a few more fish in the backseat than when we started the trip but we can handle that.

On Saturday, he hung out with Grandma & Grandpa T. and Uncle Matt, while I visited friends in Madison. Unfortunately some of their plans were pushed aside by weather, and him taking a nearly 3 hour nap but I think they all had fun anyways. He helped pick up sticks in the yard and played some ball.

That evening we headed over to be with the other side of the family. He was a bit overwhelmed by everyone at first but warmed up later in the evening and chased his cousins around in the new part of Papa and Mama’s house. I’m sure he’ll be delighted when it is finished and he can run circles without getting covered in drywall dust.

We headed for home on Sunday morning so we had some of the weekend left to spend with Daddy. However, before we left northern IL, Mommy needed to visit the cows. Jeremiah wasn’t nearly as excited. Apparently, we have some work to do in acquainting him with the big white creatures that his mommy loves because he seemed pretty scared by the cows. He was more interested in the barn cats. Maybe they are closer to his size.

He slept for most of the trip, which was perfect for me to cruise along. It was beautiful when we got home so we played outside, enjoying his riding toys for the first time outside. Then, we all enjoyed a trip to town to buy diapers and eat at Steak and Shake. We will have to share with Mama that he’s been to Steak and Shake and liked it!

This week has involved more playtime outside – blowing bubbles, going down the BIG slide at the park, and running circles around the house. It’s not a pleasant experience to get him inside.
