Tiny steps

We've been leaving you in the dark about some great news - not on purpose! Jeremiah has been taking steps!!

On Friday, he stood up in the middle of the bathroom floor and took a few quick steps before tumbling to the floor. He's been repeating these few quick steps over and over. He's loving walking behind his walking toy and holding on to our hands to walk. That night we went toy shopping because we decided it was time for a new more interactive toy. We bought a block toy that is a singing barn. He's been playing with the blocks and the barn quite a bit. It's amazing how fast her figured out what it does. He likes to take the blocks out but hasn't figured out how to put the blocks in. We have to do that part for now.

He's also getting in to things more and more. This past week's discovery has been the pantry. I thought I could use a shoestring to keep him out for a while, but that lasted about 2 days before he learned to pull the string. He's taken the Au Gratin potatoes and macaroni and cheese out of the pantry several times.

Unfortunately we didn't get to take him to his first Illini football game on Saturday because it rained. At least the Illini won and we'll plan to get him to the next game.

  • Hey J-Man, so this almost walking thing... way cool. Sorry you missed the Illini game on Saturday, the rain was bumming me out too. We tailgated anyway, albeit we got a late start after the heaviest rain moved through. Have fun with your new toy, and walking.

  • Jeremiah,

I'm so sad I didn't get to play with you earlier this week, but I sure didn't want you to get my pesky cold. Maybe you can show off some of your moves tomorrow night at our dinner date! I look forward to seeing you and your good lookin' parents too!

  • How exciting! I hope to see Jeremiah strutting his stuff next time your home. I actually watched the Illi game on Saturday. Our house was cheering for WIU though ... understandable, right?!
