All tuckered out
Jeremiah slept until almost 7:30 this morning. We think he may have slept longer but I had to wake him up to get ready to go to the babysitters. He was outright exhausted from the weekend visiting both sets of Grandparents.
Traveling there went much better than traveling back. He had not napped much at the sitters so he crashed soon after we left Fisher. He "entertained" at Culvers for dinner where he dined on green beans, some hamburger and yes, even some french fries. Call us bad parents if you must. He was back asleep when we got to G&G Todd's house, but we knew that it was extra special for Grandpa to see him so he did wake up and play for a while but he was back asleep by 10. On Saturday he discovered more and more fun things at their house, including Grandma's tupperware cupboard that he emptied and how he can chase people/be chased in circles from the kitchen to the living room. We think he wore Aunt Carrie out, or maybe it was the other way around. He was not interested in lunch but did partake of the jello that Grandpa made him.
After lunch it was time to head for G&G Schnitzler's house. He was very reluctant to take a nap so we finally put him in the car with Aunt Sheila who needed to pick up cousin Dylan. He was asleep by the time they came back. He woke up just in time for us to say goodbye to go to John's class reunion. He spent the evening and night with G&G and the Alexanders. He didn't eat dinner very well because they tried to feed him with a spoon. He's no longer interested in being feed. He wants to feed himself. They made up for the short-coming at dinner by feeding him a healthy supply of cheerios, which we found remnants of in the bed with him when we got home. The Alexander kids must have kept him busy (or Grandpa says it was the number of times he went up and down the 2 steps from the dining to living rooms) because he was so tired, he fell asleep in the middle of the hall around 9. Grandma picked him up and put him in bed.
Sunday was the normal routine of church, a quick stop in Lena and then back on the road. The ride from about Bloomington to Champaign was a long one and he was not a happy camper. We think it was a combo of wanting out of the seat, his teeth hurting (he's chewing like a crazy man), and just the end of a long weekend.
This week should be an interesting experience. We're hoping to get him to the Illini game on Saturday and tomorrow evening he is going to stay with another family for a few hours while we're both busy with some things. I'm anxious to see how that goes.
