Shalalalalala..you wanna kiss the Chief

Jeremiah has been developing so much lately and doing some fun stuff that we wanted to be sure to share.

Last week, John and Jeremiah were in the office. John was at the computer and heard Jeremiah making a smacking noise. He turned around to discover him kissing our three foot stone statue of Chief Illiniwek. We have no idea where he came up with this but he has done it repeatedly. Apparently, all that Orange and Blue in his blood has made him already love the Chief.

He's become a big fan of nursery rhymes, songs and movements to the songs. One of his favorites is "Ring Around the Rosey", but Mommy can only do it so many times in a row before she gets too dizzy. He just keeps saying "again"! He has also started clapping to the ABC song, requests doing "his pigs" on BOTH feet, and enjoys bouncing on my lap while we read Mr. Brown Can Moo, Can You?

He is yet to distinguish between folding hands and clapping. On Sunday when I asked him to fold his hands in church, he started clapping. I guess we have a bit of work to do on that one.

He also loves being outside. He'll help in the yard, play ball or just climb up and down the front steps. If we even so much as mention outside, he's headed for his coat. He felt the need to inspect the air conditioner this past weekend.

Jeremiah was excited today to learn that he will get to visit Seattle, Washington in the next few years. Aunt Carrie got a job working for Hormel in Seattle. We've already started checking out the children's activities in the Seattle area.

He's still here

Although he wasn't happy with us when we returned from our trip, our little guy is still here. We apologize in our lapse of reports, but this is probably going to be a brief one.

Jeremiah was a very good boy for Grandma S. and she learned how much he LOVES to be outside. They had some visitors and did some visiting. All in all, they both had a special week together. He capped it with preferring Grandma put him to bed on the night we got back. I guess he was a bit miffed at us.

John and Jeremiah spent some special time on Friday afternoon when his sitter had a family emergency. They took a wagon ride/walk to the store, worked in the yard, and wrestled on the living room floor.

He was fighting a bug this week so he's been dealing with a runny nose and a little fever. The doctor told us it was likely viral and to push the fluids and give him Motrin. Friday night and Saturday he survived on Motrin, snuggles and sleep. He seems to have turned the corner now and is back to his bouncing self.

He is babbling a great deal and occassionally we can actually understand what he said. He and I had an active conversation on our way home from CU tonight. It's much easier to keep him awake that way.

We're all looking forward to more walks and getting out in warm weather this weekend after a weekend stuck inside with sickness and crudy weather.
