Swimmin' and Stayin'

Jeremiah has been doing great with swimming lessons. His body doesn't float so well, but he's been really agreeable to putting his face in the water. He did great and climbing in and out at the ladder last week.

Other than the excitement of swim lessons, our weeks have been pretty standard. He loves to get on the computer and play games and has been motoring through some pre-K workbooks that Grandma T got for him. We're amazed at what he can do by himself but also appreciate that some things seem to continue to stretch him!

This past weekend, Jeremiah stayed with G&G T. Mommy and Daddy went away for a special weekend before #2 arrives. The report was that he ate quite a bit at dinner out Friday night. He and Grandpa were vying for the pre-dinner bread. They did some work at Great-Grandma Z's house and they got some great video of him singing while Grandma Z. played the organ. What a great memory for him someday!! They played in the yard, went to the park and enjoyed pizza for dinner. He did find his way to their bed and Grandma noted that it was the first time she had slept with someone with glow in the dark PJs. In general, he had a great time and his parents really appreciated having a break!

33 weeks

Quick update on Baby #2
All seems to continue to be going well. Apparently baby's space is becoming more limited because the regular kicks have become more rolls and twists.

We had an informal stress test at last week's appointment. Baby's heart rate was in the 130s, when it has typically been in the 150s. Dr. Maasen noted that this was just probably an indicator that baby was resting and with a quick poke the heart rate jumped in to the 170s and came back to the 150s. She said this was a great response.

We're starting to prepare a few things around the house. Jeremiah and Daddy put the changing table together tonight and I'm planning to start cleaning up and washing the carseat, blankets and clothes this weekend.

We're behind

Our apologies for being so far behind on updating Jeremiah's blog. Apparently we've been so busy we just haven't made time for this. So here are a few highlights from the past few weeks in Jeremiah's life.
Jeremiah fought a round of the flu a few weeks ago. After meeting L & E Johnson and their girls for pizza in Williamsburg, Jeremiah got sick on the way home. He slept through the night but got sick again the next morning so we spent Sunday trying to keep him confined to a covered area. It took several days for him to really get back to normal.
Jeremiah curled up on our towel-covered couch. Poor thing!
Jeremiah playing on the computer. Note the keyboard and floor being carefully covered.

Labor Day weekend activities were soon upon us. Highlights included seeing Great-Grandma Z. and Aunt Carrie visiting from Seattle, a day at Krape Park in Freeport with the Schnitzler cousins, and taking in a Cardinals game in Milwaukee.
Fishing with Papa
Watching the Cardinals with Grandpa
Playing putt-putt with his cousins

Jeremiah started swim lessons last week. We still need to get some pictures, but he seemed to enjoy the first week. It is a toddler-parent class so Daddy is in the pool with him.
This past weekend, we spent time in Fisher. We enjoyed tailgating with friends and then attending the first Illini game of the season. Jeremiah was pretty good but he was ready to go soon after half time. We held out until the fourth quarter. The comments from our fellow spectactors were fun. We've had the same season tickets for 3 years so they have all seen Jeremiah get a little bigger each year. They noted how big he was getting and how he isn't a baby anymore.
