The wood chip incident

It started with Mommy receiving an unexpected call from the school. Ms. Kathy shared that Andrew had a piece of wood stuck in his leg. At this point, Mommy is picturing a sliver, only to arrive and discover the below image. Andrew had managed to impale his knee with a small wood chip from the playground. Several of the school staff had tried to remove it unsuccessfully. A trip to convenient care was in order. Once there, the doctor numbed his knee, made a small incision on both sides of the wood chip and carefully removed it. Many tears and a week's worth of antibiotics later and Andrew's knee is good as new!

"I Do It My Self"

Levi continues to exhibit his independence. He doesn't mess around with asking for things. He helps himself, sometimes even dragging a stool throughout the house so he can reach whatever it is he is after.

For several months, he has been saying, "Levi do it". This week, as Daddy was trying to help him in to our bed one morning, we heard a very clear "I do it by MYSELF". Yep, he's going to be that kid!

That independence has included opening and closing the van doors. That backfired on mommy this morning when Levi locked her keys and phone inside the car before Andrew's soccer game. We didn't think our keys could be locked in the car so we'll be exploring.
