I almost missed blogging about Jeremiah's first season of youth basketball!

He played with a great group of kids from Fisher in a league in Rantoul. He had a few practices and then started games in early January. His team was "Rutgers". 

We enjoyed watching him learn the fundamentals of the game, the importance of teamwork (much praise for those assists), and general control of his body AND the ball! 

The basketball hoop from Santa Clause is getting quite the workout, now that it has warmed up!

Horsin' Around

Cousin Rebecca had a horse show near to us over Easter weekend so she and Aunt Sheila stayed with us for a few days. We also stopped by the horse show to watch her ride, and to spend a little time with the horses.

Levi took a special liking to a horse named Sassy, but only when she was behind a closed gate in her pen. 

Andrew spent some time currying one of the horses. He also helped lead one to the wash rack. (We're still baffled by the fact that in the same day, he can be moved to tears by the sight of a Easter bunny but stand right next to a 2000 lb. animal). 

Easter 2015

After retrieving Jeremiah from up north, it was time to kick-off our Easter preparations and celebrations. Friday evening, we decorated Easter eggs. The older two are becoming more interested in actually drawing pictures and designs on the eggs. Levi, on the other hand, likes to squish his eggs after he colored on them.

 On Saturday, the boys participated in an egg hunt in Thomasboro. Andrew did a turn on his heel as he went to a children's sermon before the hunt. The Easter bunny stood between him and the children's sermon so he stayed close to us. Levi LOVED the bunny and Jeremiah graciously sat for his picture.

That evening, Daddy had arranged for a few friends to gather to celebrate Mommy's Easter birthday. The boys played with their friends Emily, Hunter, Kelson and Claire. 

After hunting eggs and tearing through the contents of Easter baskets, we ate breakfast at church, did a quick egg hunt, enjoyed celebration service and then went to an enjoyable brunch. Levi crashed in the car for a few hours. Aunt Sandra, Uncle Roger, Emma, Sophia and Isabella stopped by for a visit and brought birthday desert for Mommy. Mommy took the older boys and Emma to the park, per Andrew's multiple day request! Levi showed Uncle Roger is love for the outdoors and new found bubble blowing talent. The Easter bunny brought bubble sticks.

Less than 12 hours - Andrew's lost tooth

The story of Andrew's first loose tooth is a short one (less than 12 hours according to Jeremiah). After first noticing it was loose at church earlier in the day, Andrew came to us yelling, "It fell out!" just before bed time Sunday evening (April 12).  This is his lower right tooth. After realizing what he was talking about we gave him a wet rag and found the tooth fairy box. He called Grandma and Grandpa Todd, because he had just told them on the phone about it being loose a short time before that.

The tooth fairy brought him $2 and he went off to daycare and preschool to tell them all about it!

Spring weekend up north

We made a quick trip north for Palm Sunday weekend. Daddy had to work early Saturday morning, so the boys and Mommy swung by Daddy's work to pick him up. The fun part was that Daddy's work responsibilities were at a train show. We took a few minutes to explore the trains before we hopped back on the road.

We arrived at Grandma and Grandpa Todd's house early afternoon, It was a little chilly outside but we still fit in some outdoor fun, including a visit to Grandma's park before dinner. Uncle Matt was also visiting and cousin Kinsley and her parents stopped by too.





















Mommy, Daddy, Andrew and Jeremiah headed out for cousin Kyle's last high school play, Peter Pan, while Levi spent the evening with Grandma, Grandpa and Uncle Matt. After the play, Andrew and Jeremiah decided to join a few of their cousins for an overnight at Grandma Schnitzler's house.

We all enjoyed an early Easter celebration at Grandma and Grandpa Schnitzler's on Sunday and then we returned Jeremiah back to G&G Todd's for a few days of spring break fun.

During spring break, Jeremiah enjoyed bike rides, a trip to the movies, exploring the National Mississippi River Museum and a 4-H Cloverbud workshop in Jo Daviess County.
