More Easter pics

Blogger didn't want to let me put these on with the last post so here are a few more pictures.

Easter Fun

Our Easter fun started on Friday. Mom and Dad both took the day off work to spend the day with us. We made rice krispy eggs and colored Easter eggs. Andrew tired quickly of egg coloring and made us a little nervous by referring to the eggs as balls. You never know when he's going to decide to launch something!

Andrew brought other excitement to Friday's events by locking himself in Jeremiah's room. Removing the doorknob was the resolution. He didn't cry but did keep yelling at us from inside Jeremiah's bedroom.

Because of extreme rainfall on Friday, Jeremiah's soccer game was canceled on Saturday. Our alternative activity was making a quick trip to the Dewey Bank to meet the Easter Bunny. Jeremiah was excited to sit on his lab. Andrew was TERRIFIED the moment we walked in the door. He was happy to wave goodbye to him when we were leaving.

That afternoon, we went to an Easter egg hunt. Both boys did a great job picking up eggs and then enjoyed playing in bounce houses, partaking of provided snacks, getting tattoos and bringing home balloons.

Jeremiah was the first one up this morning, but his reaction to the Easter baskets and hidden eggs was really non-chalant. He just came in our room and said, "Happy Easter". When the cat tapped one of the eggs, he finally said something about the eggs being all over the house. Both boys went searching for eggs, but Andrew wasn't nearly as motivated as Jeremiah. Then, they explored their baskets.

We went to church and then welcomed Uncle Roger, Aunt Sandra, Sophia, Isabella and Emma for lunch and afternoon fun. Emma, Jeremiah and Andrew went on an egg hunt in the front yard. Andrew also really enjoyed playing with their dog Rosita.

Here's Your Sign

Here are signs that we are raising two boys.

1. One morning while sitting in bed with us, Andrew heard Daddy pass gas and proceeded to make farting noises with his mouth to echo them.

2. When Jeremiah removes his sandals in the car, we need to consider rolling down the windows from the stench.

3. We recently found Jeremiah sleeping on the floor of his room. He moves around alot IN his bed but this was the first time we found him on the floor.

No, no, no,no

Andrew has found many ways to employ one of his new words, including using a series of "no, no, no, no," when he doesn't want to do something like get dressed.

He has taught us a few things about having a little brother in the house. The first of which is that apparently art projects made with food are edible. He was even willing to show us that he was eating his brother's fruit loop rainbow a few days ago. He has also been regularly eating food and drinking beverages that Jeremiah leaves unattended. They've been having quite a bit of fun in the bathtub lately. One of mommy's favorite things to watch is Andrew tickling Jeremiah when he is laying back to get his hair wet and rinsed. They both giggle with delight.

Andrew continues to learn things and become somewhat independent. This week he took off his coat by himself. Unfortunately, it was as we were trying to leave the house in the morning.

The kid in a disguise

Jeremiah retrieves prizes from a treasure chest at preschool when he gets 2 stickers for good behavior. His pick last week was a pair of FABULOUS glasses shown below. If this doesn't reflect his father's sense of humor, I'm not sure what would.

He continues to impress us with his ever-expanding reading skills. A couple weeks ago, we were sitting at a stoplight and from the backseat I hear, "Are your Facebook friends your only friends?" I was a little perplexed and then realized he was reading a nearby billboard advertising some social organization. Later that week, he told us that there was a sign at the Casey's gas station that said, "Poisonous now Available." I was pretty sure that wasn't what the sign said but I was curious to find out what he was reading. A drive by the Casey's revealed that they have "Positions Now Available." Pretty close but those are still pretty big words for a 4-year-old.

Last week we went to an open house at his school. He told a few things about his classroom and then enjoyed picking out a Mater book from the bookfair. He also had his first soccer game last weekend. Dad would like him to pay more attention to the ball, but he is, at least, starting to understand more about offense and defense.
